Why not just export a CSV?

Do I need a Microsoft 365 subscription?
Yes - Excel Online requires an active Microsoft 365 account. Personal accounts (Outlook.com) with OneDrive also work.
Is this different from exporting to .xlsx files?
Yes. SheetLink writes directly to a live Excel Online workbook via Microsoft Graph. The workbook stays open and up to date - there are no files to download or import.
What happens if Microsoft Graph is temporarily unavailable?
SheetLink queues the failed delivery and retries automatically with exponential backoff. You can also manually re-fire any delivery from the delivery log.
Can I send to Google Sheets and Excel at the same time?
Yes - and that mode is free. A single sync rule can deliver to Google Sheets and mirror every submission into Excel Online at once, with no add-on required. The Excel Primary add-on ($29/mo) is only needed when you want Excel to be your sole destination with no Google Sheet involved at all.
