WPForms to Excel

Push every WPForms submission into a live Excel Online workbook the moment it arrives. Works with WPForms Lite (free) and every paid tier - no Zapier tasks, no Power Automate licensing, no manual entry exports.

The WPForms-to-Excel Gap

WPForms has 6 million active installs, but no tier ships an Excel integration - even the $599.50/yr Elite plan only adds Google Sheets. If your business runs on Microsoft 365, the official product line simply does not reach the workbooks you report in. Pro users can export entries to a file by hand, but that snapshot is stale the moment it downloads. SheetLinkWP's Excel Online destination closes the gap: no other WordPress plugin offers direct form-to-Excel-Online delivery.

You Shouldn't Need a Middleware Bill for Excel

  • WPForms native integrations top out at Google Sheets on Elite ($599.50/yr) - there is no Excel option at any tier
  • Zapier treats every submission as a metered task - 500 entries/month lands around $20-$30+/mo, forever
  • Power Automate needs a webhook bridge plus Premium per-user licensing (~$15/user/mo), and someone to maintain the flow
  • Manual export from the Entries screen requires WPForms Pro, and it is a one-off file - not a live workbook

How to Connect WPForms to Excel Online

Step-by-step setup guide

  1. 1

    Install SheetLinkWP

Download SheetLink Forms from sheetlinkwp.com and upload via Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin. Activate the plugin.

  2. 2

    Connect Microsoft

Go to SheetLink -> Destinations -> Excel Online and click Connect Excel. Sign in with a Microsoft 365 work or school account. The OAuth handshake runs through SheetLink's hosted broker - no Azure app registration, no client secret on your site - and your refresh token is encrypted at rest.

  3. 3

    Pick a Workbook and Table

Select an existing workbook on OneDrive or create a new one, then choose the table that should receive submissions. Existing Excel tables are detected automatically.

  4. 4

    Map WPForms Fields

Open your WPForms form and note the numeric field IDs (1, 2, 3). Map each ID to an Excel column. Smart tags like {entry_id}, {date}, {user_ip}, and {page_url} can be mapped too.

  5. 5

    Test and Verify

Submit a test entry and confirm the row lands in your Excel table within seconds. For a click-by-click guide, see the tutorial: WPForms to Excel Online, step by step.

SheetLinkWP Excel Features for WPForms Users

Works with WPForms Lite

No paid WPForms tier required. Lite users - who get no entry export at all from WPForms - gain a permanent, live record of every submission in Excel.

Real-Time Microsoft Graph Delivery

Rows are posted straight to Microsoft Graph and appear in a live workbook on OneDrive within seconds. Not a scheduled export, not a CSV - the workbook your team already opens.

Free Mirroring, Optional Excel-Only

Send each submission to Google Sheets and Excel simultaneously at no extra cost with the free core plugin. Want Excel as your sole destination? That is Primary Destinations, part of the AI Pack at $29/mo.

Payment Form Data

WPForms Pro Stripe and PayPal fields come through with amounts and reference data, so revenue lands in the same workbook as the lead.

UTM & Attribution

utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, gclid, fbclid, and msclkid are captured and appended to every Excel row automatically.

Retry Queue

Failed deliveries are retried automatically - 3 attempts at 15-minute intervals - with manual retry available from the Retry Queue page. No submission silently vanishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the AI Pack for Excel-only delivery?

Only for Excel-only delivery. Mirroring WPForms submissions into Excel alongside Google Sheets is included free with the core plugin. If you want Excel Online as the sole destination with no Google Sheet at all, that requires Primary Destinations, part of the AI Pack - $29/mo or $290/yr.

Is this a CSV export?

No. This is live delivery: each submission is written into an Excel Online workbook on OneDrive via Microsoft Graph the moment it is submitted. There is nothing to download, and the workbook never goes stale.

Does it work with Microsoft 365 Business?

Yes. Microsoft 365 Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts all work. Personal Outlook.com accounts are not supported by Microsoft's Excel API. Connect once with Microsoft OAuth and pick your workbook.

How is this different from WPForms' own integrations?

WPForms has no Excel integration at any tier - Elite ($599.50/yr) adds Google Sheets only. SheetLinkWP delivers to Excel Online from any WPForms tier, including Lite, and the same plugin covers 11 other form plugins.

Do WPForms smart tags come through to Excel?

Yes. Smart tags like {entry_id}, {date}, {user_ip}, and {page_url} can be mapped to Excel columns alongside your regular fields.

Can I run reports and dashboards on the data?

Yes. Because submissions land in a real Excel workbook, PivotTables and charts update as rows arrive - and Power BI can sit directly on the workbook for live lead dashboards.

WPForms to Excel Without the Elite Plan or Zapier
