Why Two Names?

It comes down to WordPress.org naming guidelines.

The WordPress.org plugin directory has strict naming rules. Plugin slugs must be unique and cannot simply append "WP" or "WordPress" to an existing name. Our slug is sheetlink-forms, so the plugin appears as SheetLink Forms in the directory at wordpress.org/plugins/sheetlink-forms/.

Meanwhile, our brand - SheetLinkWP - is the name of the company, the website, and the product line. The domain sheetlinkwp.com is where you purchase licenses for premium add-ons, access your account portal, read documentation, and get support.

This is a common pattern in the WordPress ecosystem: a brand name that differs slightly from the WordPress.org plugin slug.

Same Product, Same Everything

No matter which name you see, you get the exact same thing.

Same Codebase

The plugin is identical whether installed from WordPress.org or downloaded from sheetlinkwp.com.

Same Updates

New versions ship to WordPress.org and sheetlinkwp.com simultaneously. WordPress notifies you in the Plugins screen when an update is available.

Same Support

Whether you found us on WordPress.org or sheetlinkwp.com, you reach the same support team. License holders get priority response.

Same Team

SheetLinkWP and SheetLink Forms are developed, maintained, and supported by the same people.

How to Get Started

Two ways to install - both give you the same plugin.

Option A

Install from WordPress.org (free)

  1. In your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins → Add New
  2. Search for "SheetLink Forms"
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate
  4. Optional: enter a license key from sheetlinkwp.com to unlock premium add-ons
Option B

Download from SheetLinkWP.com

  1. Purchase a license at sheetlinkwp.com/pricing
  2. Download the plugin ZIP from your account portal
  3. Upload via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  4. Activate - your license is applied automatically

Either path lands you on the same plugin. Option A is fine if you only need the free core; Option B saves a step when you already have a license.

Common Questions

Which name do I search for on WordPress.org?

Search for SheetLink Forms in the Plugins → Add New screen. The plugin slug on WordPress.org is sheetlink-forms and the published listing lives at wordpress.org/plugins/sheetlink-forms/.

Are SheetLinkWP.com licenses and WordPress.org installs the same plugin?

Yes. The codebase is identical. The free WordPress.org version gives you all 12 form integrations, the retry queue, and direct Google Sheets delivery. A SheetLinkWP.com license unlocks premium add-ons (Multi-CRM Routing, Two-Way Sync, White-Label, AI Lead Scoring, etc.) on the same install - no separate plugin required.

Why isn't the WordPress.org plugin just called SheetLinkWP?

WordPress.org plugin directory guidelines require unique slugs and discourage appending "WP" or "WordPress" to plugin names. Our slug is sheetlink-forms, so the directory listing appears as SheetLink Forms. The "WP" suffix lives on the brand and domain (sheetlinkwp.com) but not the plugin itself.

Do I need a license to use the WordPress.org version?

No. The free version on WordPress.org is fully functional for delivering form submissions to Google Sheets - 12 form integrations, retry queue, conditional routing, GDPR controls, formula injection guard, all included with no license required. A license activates premium add-ons on top of the free core.

What version is on WordPress.org right now?

The current published version is v1.9.1 (released April 2026). Updates ship simultaneously to WordPress.org and to direct downloads from your sheetlinkwp.com account portal. WordPress will notify you when a new version is available; updates install in one click from the Plugins screen.

Ready to connect WordPress forms to Google Sheets?
