What is WordPress Multisite?

A single WordPress installation serving many sites - and how SheetLink Forms handles it.

Definition

WordPress Multisite is a feature built into WordPress core that lets a single installation host many separate sites, each with its own domain or subdomain, content, users, and themes. Network admins manage the network; site admins manage their individual site. Universities, corporate marketing teams, and franchise operators use Multisite to run dozens or hundreds of sites from one codebase.

Plugins behave differently on Multisite. Some need network activation (apply to every site); some are site-by-site. Configuration storage, user capabilities, and update flows all have multisite-specific considerations. Plugins that do not properly handle Multisite often store settings at the wrong level, causing settings to leak between sites.

How SheetLinkWP relates to WordPress Multisite

SheetLink Forms is Multisite-aware. When network-activated, each individual site can configure its own Apps Script webhook, its own license behavior, and its own routing rules - the plugin stores configuration per site, not per network. License seats count per site (a 25-seat plan covers 25 individual Multisite sites). The Agency Dashboard aggregates submission health across all sites in the network so you can manage a 50-site network from one view.
